# easyHermes: Getting Started

Welcome to easyHermes! Your Nous Hermes conversational agent is running on your VPS.
This guide covers the Hermes-specific setup; anything about the underlying platform
(security, updates, logs, support access) is in the **Shared** docs — filter for them
above.

## Setup Checklist

### ☐ 1. Set Up SSL
Your domain needs HTTPS for the chat interface to work. Go to **Settings → SSL Setup**,
enter your domain, point DNS at your VPS IP, and click **Setup SSL**.

### ☐ 2. Name your agent
Give Hermes an identity in **Settings → Identity**.

### ☐ 3. Connect a channel
Wire up Telegram, email, or web chat so you can talk to your agent. See the shared
**Channels** doc for the details.

### ☐ 4. Start a conversation
Open the chat panel and say hello.
